New York City is a magical place. After spending one week in NYC with 1 Hotels, we learnt that It’s the city of endless possibilities, incredible stays, eats & experiences! Whatever you desire, you’ll find it here. Want to eat the best dumplings of your life, sip a cocktail on a rooftop overlooking the sparkling lights of the city & stay at a sustainable, boutique hotel? You got it.

STAY:
We recently stayed with 1 Hotels in their Brooklyn & Central Park properties & were blown away by the location, overall vibe & their seriously commendable philosophy for environmental change!
1 Hotel Brooklyn
We spent 4 nights at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge and couldn’t have asked for a better location. Right on the East River with close-up views of the Brooklyn Bridge, this property is a destination all on its own.
The hotel offers everything you need to experience a once-in-a-lifetime NYC stay. Their rooftop bar (Harrietts) makes for one of the most stunning views in the city. Their market driven farm-to-table restaurant The Osprey offers delicious dining & the hotel’s in-house Bamford Wellness Spa is the perfect retreat after a long day exploring the city. And I had the best facial of my life here!
If you want to splurge, seriously consider their Riverhouse Suite with floor to ceiling windows, artisanal decor & views over the Manhattan skyline.
1 Hotel Central Park
Whether it’s basking in Summer sun or ice skating in Winter, no trip to NYC is complete without a visit to New York’s iconic Central Park. Simply add a stay at 1 Hotel Central Park to really take it to the next level! You’ll be sipping your morning coffee overlooking the park & feel as if you’re in a movie. Trust me, you’ll thank me later.
We loved staying with 1 Hotels because of their approach to sustainability. There is indoor greenery everywhere, filtered water stations throughout (including in your room), and even a hotel Audi e-tron vehicle exclusive for guest use!
You can book your stay here.
EXPLORE:
There’s unlimited ways to fill your days in New York City, but these are our not too be missed experiences:
1. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge for sunset
We like doing this on our first night arriving in NYC. It sets the scene for a magical stay & is the perfect introduction to the city. It’s also one of our fav experiences overall.
2. Stroll around Dumbo, Brooklyn
Walking the narrow neighbourhood streets, browsing the Flea Market (where I found an incredible vintage coat) and dining in some of the cities more casually cool restaurants!
3. Central Park
No matter the time of year, this is a must-do! Make sure you go ice skating in the winter months at Wollman Ring, it’s bucket list! And in the summer grab a picnic & enjoy in the sunshine (We love East Green for a more laid back vibe & Great Lawn to feel the energy of the city!)
4. Top of the Rock
One of the best outlooks in NYC. The crowds are busy right at sunset but it’s well worth it for $30 per person. There is more than enough room for everyone to enjoy the view (with 3 levels, one being indoors). Or head to Bar SixtyFive for views from the 65th floor of the Rockerfeller.
5. Summit One
A new attraction that gives you access to 3 floors of mirrored floors and walls, creating unique views of the city skyline.
6. Radio City
An iconic photo spot in NYC. Great to see day or night, but I personally love seeing the lights come on at dusk.
7. West Village
We encourage you to get lost for a day or two, ducking in and out of bookstores, vintage shops, speakeasy bars & neighbourhood food haunts. Easily our most loved NYC neighbourhood & where we spent a lot of time!
EAT & DRINK:
These are some of our favourite places for a cocktail or meal:
Alice (West Village) – candlelit restaurant in the basement of a historical brownstone building
Jajaja (West Village) – delicious vegan Mexican
Jimmy (Soho) – incredible cocktails (I recommend the chilli Mezcal margarita) and rooftop views (plus a pool for summer)
Apasta bar (Soho) – outdoor dining tents for winter and amazing pasta (as expected with the name)
Gelso & Grand (Little Italy) – incredible Italian food in a dim-lit restaurant
Veranda (Soho) – restaurant with relaxed atmosphere and a variety of tasty eats
