Retro vibes, amazing food, ultra trendy hotels and friendly people, Palm Springs oozes a very cool energy. We love Palm Springs for its mid-century architecture, palm lined streets & incredible mountain backdrop. There’s a lot to see and do while in Palm Springs, so here’s our suggested itinerary to make sure you get the most out of your stay.

You can also check out more amazing travel spots in the region with our complete Southwest Roadtrip Blog.

Day 1 – Palm Springs Itinerary

Check in and sip poolside cocktails

We stayed at L’Horizon in Palm Springs, which was in the perfect location right near the famous Indian Canyons neighbourhood and with unobstructed mountain views. It’s a small, retro boutique hotel that’s quiet and perfect for chilling poolside with a prickly pear Margarita or two! Get there early to get the heat from the day and enjoy swims and some lounging vibes.

Dinner at Sandfish Sushi and Whiskey

After a relaxing afternoon, dress up a little and head out for a drink and dinner. Sandfish Sushi and Whiskey had great sushi and outdoor dining right on the main strip.

Day 2 – Palm Springs Itinerary

Explore Indian Canyons Neighbourhood

By far the most aesthetic part of Palm Springs, this neighbourhood is full of houses goals. It’s a maze of magazine properties with retro architecture and cactus gardens that you can explore for hours.

Late breakfast at Palm Greens Cafe

Serving healthy and organic food, with vegan and Mexican options, Palm Greens cafe is well-priced and has a delicious menu for breakfast or lunch.

Hang at the Ace and Saguaro Hotels

Both well known for their retro vibes iconic pools, stop by the Ace Hotel or the Saguaro Hotel for poolside hangs in a lively hotel setting.

Sunset bike rides

Grab some bikes from your hotel and head back to Indian Canyons neighbourhood. Snap a few photos in the soft lighting, and enjoy the neighbourhood with the palm trees dotted against the golden mountain backdrop.

Day 3 – Palm Springs Itinerary

Photograph Palm Springs

Grab your camera in the morning light and find some spots around town to snap some shots for your photo album or socials. Check out our photography guide here.

Mid morning espresso date shake

Grab a healthy bite and an espresso date shake (trust me!) at Nature’s Health Food & Cafe.

Hike Palm Canyon

Hit one of the hiking trails at Palm Canyon before the daytime temperatures peak and immerse yourself in the palm tree forests that hug the winding canyon floors.

Extend your Stay – Palm Springs Itinerary

There’s so much more to do around Palm Springs, so if you have an extra day or more check out Joshua Tree or Salvation Mountain.
